Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Leasehold Accounts Officer on a 6month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 22.85 30.29 per hour

Summary:

The Leasehold Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of leasehold accounts proactively recovering service and major works charges from current and former leaseholders and ensuring account accuracy. The role also includes liaising with mortgage lenders providing expert advice to leaseholders attending court when necessary and contributing to ongoing service improvements within the Leasehold Services team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximise revenue collection and minimise arrears by managing a portfolio of leasehold accounts.
  • Take prompt action on arrears including initiating legal proceedings and liaising with mortgage lenders.
  • Analyse payments reconcile accounts and ensure invoice accuracy using housing management systems.
  • Respond to enquiries from leaseholders solicitors benefits agencies and other departments promptly.
  • Promote available payment methods and advise leaseholders on managing arrears and welfare entitlements.
  • Prepare and submit applications to the County Court and attend hearings when necessary.
  • Process discounts promotions and writeoffs for major works and other charges.

Qualification:

  • A good standard of education at least 5 GCSEs (grade A C)

Required Experience:

  • Experience in a challenging collections environment.
  • Experience in County Court proceedings including applications and representation.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
