Harney District Hospital of Burns Oregon is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech to join the Imaging Team. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform various duties of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Communicates effectively with patients and make every effort to ensure patient comfort when performing procedures.
  • Follow established exam protocols as per policy and procedure manual.
  • Review physicians order to determine the purpose & type of examination needed & special considerations involved.
  • Instruct and/or provide information to patients regarding examination preparation. Assist with exam scheduling and questions from transcriptionists as needed.
  • This position includes training in ECHO (echocardiogram) scanning after which you will begin performing ECHO procedures as part of your role.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of Ultrasound principles practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to pinpoint area for procedure and identify findings and basic nursing skills and universal precautions.
  • Knowledge of recordkeeping practices and computer applications software.

Education and Experience:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a certified ultrasound training program
  • One (1) year of experience or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • Possession of current ARDMS certificate & OBMI licensure in Sonography

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • ARDMS credentials in AB OB/GYN RVT
