Job Description
The Department of Political Science at Virginia Tech is seeking to appoint a faculty member as a Visiting Assistant Professor to enhance and expand its instructional mission student advising international programs and experiential learning opportunities by coordinating the departments participation in the Bridge Experience program coordinated by the Academy for Experiential Learning. This is a threeyear restricted position beginning on August 10 2025.

Required Qualifications
- A PhD (preferred) or an MA/MS degree in Government Political Science or related field required by time of appointment.
- Significant collegiate teaching experience.
- Experience in undergraduate advising and mentorship.
- Record of leadership and significant experience in the development and/or coordination of Bridge Experiencerelated programming.
- Creative problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students faculty members administrators and external partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
