K5 STEELS (STEM/Science) Teacher
Job Location:Wayne Elementary
Position Context:
Radnor Township School District (RTSD) is in search of dynamic teachers with a passion for STEM science and computer science instruction. This special is known as Innovation Design Studio (IDS) a phenomena and projectbased class that is aligned with the STEELS PA Science Standards as well as PA Computer Science Standards and ISTE Standards. This program includes time for classroom/schoolwide integration of sciencecontent technologyenhanced STEM computer science and designthinking practices. New teachers will add to our existing IDS teachers in each elementary building teaching either K2 IDS or 35 IDS.
RTSD Elementary buildings operate on a 6day cycle that will include two IDS Specials per rotation for all K5 students.
Position Summary:
- Instruct K2 or 35 students in STEELS Standards (Life Science Physical Science Earth and Space Science Environenttal Literacy and Sustainability and Technology and Engineering).
- Instructional integration of phenomenabased learning scientific method and engineering design process.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support technologybased STEM skills and generalization within the RTSD curriculum and programming in the classroom setting.
- Collaborate with other special area teachers to infuse CS and STEM practices in instruction when possible and appropriate.
- Serve as an instructional technology lead for the building by providing support through troubleshooting and professional development in alignment with daily schedule and availability.
Qualifications:
- Active PA CertificationElementary (K6) required
- PA STEM Endorsement and/or PA Instructional Technologies Specialist preferred
- STEM and Computer Science experience preferred
