This position is 100% grantfunded continuation of this FTE is contingent upon the availability of grant funds. If grant funding is reduced or discontinued the position may be reduced in scope or eliminated accordingly.
The Project Coordinator will provide high level support for the administrative core of TRANSCEND an NIHfunded grant designed to facilitate collaborations between non clinicians and clinicians to move basic research discoveries toward clinical applications. This position will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Schwartz in managing the operational and financial aspects of the grant track progress provide highlevel administrative assistance and communicate effectively with internal leaders and partner institutions which include NDSU and Sanford Health. The position will assist faculty/researchers with grant writing editing and programmatic reporting activities to federal agencies and private foundations.
Participate in and provide support for the recruitment of applicants and mentors for TRANSCEND pilot grant funding and scholar development programs
Provide administrative support for the TRANSCEND grant and its activities
Provide financial management support for the TRANSCEND grant
Assist SMHS faculty/researchers with identifying new funding opportunities developing grant proposals and grant compliance
Administrative support to Principal Investigator Dr. Schwartz in activities related to TRANSCEND initiatives and activities including coordinating applications for TRANSCEND faculty for CME credits in clinical and translational research
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in deadlinedriven environment
Ability to prepare complex documents that include figures images and text
Ability to listen and develop information into grant proposals
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty researchers and others in various disciplines
Strong editing skills with attention to English language grammar syntax and spelling
Strong contributor in team environments
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
Ability to handle multiple assignments ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to monitor progress and meet the research needs of the SMHS
Ability to maintain confidentiality of research and other relevant information
Strong organizational and record keeping skills
Prefer knowledge of NDUS/UND policies and procedures especially in areas of grants management financial management procurement and travel
Bachelors degree in Journalism Communications Biomedical Sciences or other related field
1 year of experience writing and editing for professional publication
Experience with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Experience working with federal grant structure and compliance requirements
