Start: Immediately Longterm assignment

Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.

Requirements:
- Advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience; a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years experience OR a MS degree and 12 years experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years experience.
- Considered an internal expert in area of expertise.
- Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
- Can solve complex problems in field.
- Must demonstrate 8 years recent experience in design and analysis of NRC or DOE regulated nuclear facilities.
- Experience with finite element analysis is required.
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD ANSYS or ABAQUS or similar computer codes.
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specifically IBC AISC (ASD LRFD & N690) ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4 7 & 43).
- Must be able to perform field walkdowns to document asinstalled conditions.
Preferred:
- Experience utilizing EVMS on DOE or NNSA projects working with DOE/NNSA customers.
- Project experience utilizing DOE 413.3 guidelines.
- Previous SRS site experience.
Responsibilities:
- Apply technical experience in eld of specialization or broadbased experience in multiple technical elds and use other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems.
- Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements application of new or special materials or processes and dicult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
- Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
- Develop solutions to complex technical problems in elds of expertise.
- Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
- Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers.
- Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
- Lead task teams to develop solutions to more complex problems.
- Prepare plans including schedules budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identied by management.
- Develop schedules monitor progress monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.
- Include research development testing quality assurance requirements.
- Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers colleagues managers and oversight groups.
- Prepare reports for external publication.
