The fulltime starting salary is normally 42860.00 per annum with progression available in post to 46586.00 per annum.

Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Civil Engineering to join our dynamic team. The role will suit an experienced individual either via prior academic or postdoctoral appointments looking to advance their career while looking after a modern campus receiving significant investment.
You will be responsible to carry out Teaching in our home (UG and PGT) and Degree Apprentice schemes within the Subject area of Civil and Environmental Engineering. You should be an aspirational academic research active and with expertise in Cost Management Civils Quantification and Cost and/or in other areas in Civil and Construction Engineering.
Through effective participation in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Subject team the individual appointed will:
- Play a lead role in the successful delivery of UG Degree apprentices and PGR schemes.
- Develop a research programme of studies leading to successful REFable journal outcomes.
- Prepare and submit grant proposal and obtain research and enterprise income.
- Support the Subject Head and the Head of College in proper execution of administrative duties.
You will be educated to PhD Level in Civil Engineeringor other related discipline and a relevant professional qualification is desirable. You will hold an excellent research track record of published journal outputs todate and have experience of working in a demanding academic setting.
