Kleinfelder provides training for all new tasks. This is an exciting and challenging position that requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a highly organized and responsive candidate capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Kleinfelder is looking for a dynamic Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our team in the State College PA office.
Kleinfelder is looking to expand the Abandoned Mines and Environmental Team to support project efforts across the midAtlantic area. We are seeking candidates with 1 years experience related to environmental delineations permitting geology environmental site investigations and remediation.
Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and writing skills and technical background in abandoned mine reclamation and assessment environmental delineations soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects. Experience in the following areas is also desired:
- Pennsylvania Chapter 102 Permitting
- Stream and Wetland Delineation and/or Assessment
- Abandoned Mine field investigations and Support
- Phase I ESAs
- Phase II ESA field efforts and reporting including:
- groundwater sampling
- soil vapor sampling
- collection and logging of soil samples
- oversight of monitoring well installation
- waste management
- Analyzing and interpreting analytical data and
- Supporting development of technical reports.
Requirements
- BS degree in geology or environmental science
- 1 years of related experience in consulting engineering firms or related service business and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required.
- Soil and/or water sample collection experience
- Experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
- A demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently as well as in a team environment and a positive professional attitude
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical judgment and problemsolving capabilities.
- Excellent organization and multitasking skill
Preferred Experience/Certifications:
- 40hour HAZWOPER training (a plus but not required)
- Valid driverslicense with a clean driving record
