A Brief Overview
Under general supervision responsible for the supervision and Claims management of a Claims unit. Provides technical guidance and training to personnel. Evaluates standards of performance of technical and clerical direct reports relative to branch/corporate objectives.
This role is eligible to participate in Zeniths hybrid work schedule which provides the flexibility to work from home on select days of the week according to the inoffice schedule established by regional executive leadership. Selected candidate must be able to report into the Orange CA San Diego CA or Woodland Hills CA office on a weekly basis.
What you will do
- Directs controls monitors and provides technical and supervisory guidance to the assigned Claims unit(s).
- Foster an environment that supports the Branch Customer Service Objectives. Ensure his/her team provides exceptional customer service. Takes ownership of account relationships. Acts as point person for the team on all service commitments coordination of policyholder reviews and provides marketing support as required.
- Evaluates performance according to established Zeniths standards of performance.
- Prepares performance appraisals and recommends salary action for staff in unit in accordance with company policy.
- Participates in interview and hiring process and trains new employees assigned to unit.
- Responsible for Claims management of cases assigned to unit which may include special accounts within the guidelines of published performance standards company claim policy and regulatory requirements.
- Identify trends and take appropriate action to continuously improve results including taking timely corrective action when a team member does not meet standards.
- Achieve quality claim investigations and outcomes. This is facilitated by the combination of strong critical thinking and appropriate application of Zenith Best Practices and expert resources. This is accomplished by timely and effective supervision/coaching which should be evident detailed and timely at appropriate intervals in the life of the file. Supervision should be such that it encourages critical and strategic thinking by the Specialist while moving the claim file to resolution. Ensure accurate and timely reserving within team claim files.

Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma Or equivalent required
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required
Experience Qualifications
- 6 Years experience handling workers compensation indemnity Claims; to include settlement negotiation of litigated Claims required
- 2 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience required.
- Current and Valid CA Workers Comp claims Designation required.
Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience or education acquired through seminars and classes preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and prevailing case law required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.
- PC literacy required.
- Good time management organizational and negotiation skills a must.
- Meets all state regulatory standards regarding licensing continuing education and other requirements.
