Job Description

Job Profile Summary:

The AssessmentDeveloper(AD)isresponsible for thedevelopment and maintenance of Western Governors Universitys(WGU)objective and performancebased AD facilitatesdesign anddevelopment workshops using industry best practices to ensure assessment validity and individual combinesstrategic and creative thinking with efficient timesensitive execution to drive the creation of assessments and mitigate risks.

Location:This position requires you to live and work in either our Salt Lake City UT office or our Raleigh NC office. You would work a hybrid schedule in the office 4 days a week with one day remote.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Managesthedesign anddevelopment process for both objective and performance assessmentsincludingmilestones and timelinesandtracksprogress.
• Communicatesproject status updates to crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
• Workswith crossfunctional teams to ensure projects have appropriate resources and realistic timelines andto solve any contentrelated issues regarding theassessments.
• Organizesand facilitatesworkshops for internal assessment development and review.
• Overseessubject matter expert involvement in thedesigndevelopmentand review processes as well asin the validation of an assessments congruency and accuracy.
• Maintainsassessmentdesign anddevelopment standardsto ensure assessment integrity.
• Identifiesand mitigatesrisks that may impact the quality orontime delivery of assessments.
• Collaborateswith the assessment team to define and execute assessment policiesprocesses and best practices.
• Ensuresalignmentand consistencyof assessments to WGUs business objectives.
• Developsand implementsitemand examlevel scoring guidelines and validatesthe successful implementation of these guidelines.
• Overseesassessment QA processes identifying and resolvingissues and trends as required.
• Maintainsknowledge ofexam performance and makesnecessary quality improvement adjustments throughout the exam lifecycle.
• Participatesin crossfunctional team to implement exam security measures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degreein relevant disciplines or equivalent experience(masters degree preferred).
• 3 years of assessmentdesign anddevelopment experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project management experience (PMP certification preferred).
• Experiencewithboth objective and performance assessment.
• Experience in online assessment and education.
• Experience managing vendor and external resources relationships.
• Strong experience with distance education and distance learning students.
• Terminal degree and all applicable licenses or certifications.
• Using AI development tools.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
