The settlement support unit of Jewish Family Services of Ottawa is looking for a summer student to join the Newcomer program for Francophone Community. The student will work closely with the settlement outreach team in developing coordinating and delivering workshops and events creating content and providing administrative support for the Summer Program.
As this job is part of the Canada Summer Jobs program participants must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications
High school graduate or postsecondary student up to 30 years of age
Fluent French and English speaker
Skilled in using office tools Zoom and various media platforms.
Strong organization and communication skills.
Ability to communicate with clients of different ages and backgrounds.
A team player with good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fastpaced work environment to meet deadlines.
Duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate the Summer community Integration Program for Francophone Newcomer and youth and other programs as needed.
Assist in planning organizing promoting and delivering settlement services for newcomer families.
Create social media content to promote the program.
Help in registration process.
Facilitate online and in person workshops for newcomers.
Support the settlement worker with data entry compiling statistic reports client surveys and preparing program materials.
Collect and update settlementrelated information.
Identify needs among immigrant communities.
Starting date: June 2nd 2024
Location: online session and at 2255 Carling Ave office with possible events in different locations in the Ottawa area.
Temp
