Resource Access within Energy Policys Resource Stewardship Policy Branch provides leadership and adopts a strategic perspective as it delivers on its policy and planning functions. Our work is focused on supporting the development and implementation of Landuse Framework regional plans associated policy and planning initiatives such as caribou subregional planning and intergovernmental agreements that govern access to Crownowned minerals. Our team ensures these efforts appropriately consider the Integrated Resource Management System to meet the Ministrys vision and mandate. The work we do every day is about developing strategic riskinformed policy recommendations implementing policy direction and facilitating conflict resolution.

Do you have a passion for analyzing complex issues from multiple perspectives Are you looking for a new opportunity to work with an amazing team in a fastpaced environment To support our efforts in making a difference for Albertans the Resource Stewardship Policy Branch is looking for a new team member to join the Resource Access team.
In this role you will be relied on as Alberta Energys subject matter expert on surface and subsurface policy interface which includes diverse and challenging land resource and environmental policy and planning initiatives projects and issues. This will require you to collaborate effectively with crossministry and multistakeholder teams and committees to ensure Alberta Energys perspectives and interests are incorporated into the Integrated Resource Management System. The teams work includes participation in the development and implementation of provincial environmental and resource management policy legislative and regulatory frameworks and managing intergovernmental agreements that govern access to Crownowned minerals.
You will be responsible for representing the Ministry on policy initiatives and issues to ensure relevant perspectives relating to management of the Crowns energy and mineral resources are integrated throughout the policy cycle. You will undertake research review data and consult with ministry and crossministry colleagues as well as stakeholders to determine impacts of potential policy options on provincial priorities for energy and mineral resource development.

Qualifications
University graduate degree in economics environmental science natural resource science political science public policy or administration or a related field plus six years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalencies: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills including the ability to work with others with diverse interests;
- Knowledge related to Energys business plan government priorities and Albertas Crown mineral tenure system;
- Understanding of Albertas Crown land management systems legislation and policies (e.g. Land Use Framework regional and subregional plans) and familiarity with Alberta Mineral Information and resourcerelated spatial tools (e.g. GeoDiscover Geoview Alberta Energy Regulator map viewers); and
- Knowledge of resource and environmental policy issues including those that involve Indigenous communities and Treaty rights.
