The Assistant Director Leadership Giving (Leadership Giving Officer) plays a critical role in LMUs effort to deepen its relationship with alumni parents and friends to secure financial support for its funding priorities. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across campus the Assistant Director helps to build relationships with prospects who will fill a pipeline of future philanthropic leaders. This LGO will collaborate with DODs as well as colleagues in Annual Giving Gift Planning and PMR.

Position Specific Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to facilitate and empower the philanthropic decisions of priority alumni and friends of the University. Through virtual and facetoface engagement secure funding for critical University priorities and unrestricted needs. Position may require local travel to bolster volunteer recruitment and fundraising success. (40%)

  • Contribute strategies for broad philanthropic engagement initiatives with leadership giving ($1000) multichannel outreach campaigns (25%)

  • Partner with fellow Advancement colleagues to develop execute and reach fundraising goals strategies for schools departments and alumni class or affinity groups. (20%)

  • In collaboration with the VP of Development and Executive Directors report analyze and project results; and revise strategies as necessary in order to accomplish goals. (10%)

  • Additional duties as assigned. (5%)

Requisite Qualifications

  • Typically a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. The incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge skills and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Minimum of two years of related professional experience which includes direct development fundraising and/or transferrable professional skills that includes sales and/or developing relationships with volunteers and/or high net worth clients or customers.

  • Demonstrated interest in personal solicitation of philanthropic gifts and experience in direct sales fundraising or recruitment.

  • Demonstrated technical competency in Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint and preferably have knowledge of Advance or other comparable fundraising or CRM systems. Virtual Engagement methods such as Phone Text Email and Social Media.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A commitment to higher education and ability to articulate a compelling case for support of Loyola Marymount University.

  • Knowledge of Loyola Marymount University and its mission.

  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.

  • Must be a goaloriented and selfmotivated individual who can demonstrate accountability initiative creativity and focus in rapidly changing and intellectually stimulating environment.

  • Demonstrate strong active listening skills and ability to negotiate positive outcomes.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills sound ethical judgment and experience handling highly confidential information.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage time and workload to multitask and achieve goals in a deadline driven environment.

  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative ethical and professional team environment

Reasonable Expected Salary:
$68000$70000/annually
