Job Summary/Description:
KFVS12/Heartland News in Cape Girardeau MO is looking for a Journalist to join our digital team. The ideal candidate can create engaging content across all digital platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
Writing and producing content for KFVS12s website apps CTV platforms and social pages
Writing stories for various digital and social platforms
Generate and pitch story ideas and research as necessary
Direct Photojournalists and reporters to gather/produce news
Monitoring scanners maintaining phone lists keeping files/records of upcoming news events
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
A college degree in Journalism is preferred.
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work well on your own or with a team
Must be able to handle a wide variety of variables including short deadlines and shifting schedules.
Other duties as assigned by news management.
