L3Harris Broadband Communications Systems Sector is seeking an Inventory Accounting Senior Manager. This role will be based at our Salt Lake City UT location. This position will be a key member of the Controllers Leadership team and will have overall responsibility for ensuring the consistency and compliance with Corporate and Segment policies and controls related to Inventory Accounting.
The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who has experience in a publicly traded defense contractor organization. They are action oriented and can work proactively to address risks on an objective assessment of the business. They build consensus around process changes and crossfunctionally reach out to facilitate solutions. The individual will work directly with both finance and nonfinance personnel within the business to optimize internal controls with a focus on compliance and efficiency. The individual will project manage multiple areas including inventory reporting and controls as well as assistance in other financial areas as needed internal and external audits. This individual should consider themselves a problem solver suggesting solutions based on previous experience.
Essential Functions
- Consolidate analyze and report inventory balances by inventory type and perform detailed monthly variance analysis
- Quarterly Balance Sheet classification (RM WIP & FG) for financial statement reporting
- Review journal entries general ledger account analysis and reconciliations related to inventory.
- Lead and review accounting control functions and reporting requirements such as: inventory reconciliations inventory reserve calculations cycle count accuracy and completeness tracking excess capacity analysis and other operational reporting needs.
- Strong internal control focus including updating control documentation supporting internal and external audits.
- Improve upon inventory reporting including cost analysis at the material part level labor and recalculation of G&A and overhead.
- Calculate and record intercompany profitininventory (PII) eliminations monthly to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Actively seek opportunities to streamline assigned processes and crosstrain with peers.
- Assist in project management activities and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Provide support and collaborate with Procurement and Operations as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevantaccounting/finance experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related accounting/finance lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior relatedaccounting/finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Internal control experience
- Relevant experience in cost accounting or operations/manufacturing environment
- Strong SAP expertise with an understanding of pegging and distribution in a complex manufacturing or logistics environment.
