AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) Finance seeks a world class Finance Manager to be part of the External Usage and Revenue Finance team of one of the largest AWS services. This role relies on financial analyses to support decisions related to private pricing negotiations and public pricing initiatives. You will also contribute to improvement of S3 P&L through deep financial analysis into pricing usage patterns and cost improvements. To influence business strategy you will work with the GM of the business and provide insightful analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
Run private deal evaluation models and help Sales and Deal Desk business leaders to make pricing decisions with AWS customers.
Oversee external customer usage patterns pricing revenue and marginal costs for the S3 and Glacier businesses to support all aspects of public and private pricing decisions.
Developing short and long range demand and revenue forecasts. And provide documentation to support the annual OP planning reviews with the senior leadership.
Providing customer analytical insights by looking at customer workload heuristic patterns and make recommendations to pricing negotiations.
Taking the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance against goals.
The successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including running customer deal evaluations to support customer pricing negotiations perform postdeal audit to ensure successful pricing implementations and regularly track and analyze customer P&L to drive meaningful pricing decisions.
This role requires a selfstarter with a strong financial modeling background problem solving skills a keen attention to detail ability to work in a fastpaced environment with ambiguous situations and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills
5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process reengineering quality assurance) experience
6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
MBA or CPA
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decisionmaking experience
6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
