Our wellestablished clientproudly operating for over 30 yearsis seeking a PartTime Accountant to join their entrepreneurial and collaborative team in Dartmouth NS. This is a handson permanent parttime role offering approximately 10 hours per week ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys both daytoday accounting and contributing to process improvements and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Fullcycle accounting including accounts payable and receivable
- Bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Journal entries and financial statement preparation
- Benefits administration and employee records maintenance
- Sales expense and job costing reporting and analysis
- Budgeting forecasting and yearend audit preparation
- Safety records and compliance reporting
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Postsecondary education in accounting
- Minimum 2 years of fullcycle bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting standards processes and internal controls
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills especially Excel
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and systems implementation
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills
- Adaptable detailoriented and selfmotivated
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
