Mars Pet Nutrition is searching for a passionate and experienced Commercial Operations Buyer to join our Melbournebased team on a 12month contract.
About the Role
As our Commercial Operations Buyer youll play a key role in ensuring the seamless supply of materials and goods that go into our trusted pet food products. From managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial outcomes to driving cost efficiencies and enhancing quality youll be at the heart of our sourcing strategy.
Youll be responsible for both the strategic and operational buying of our Vegetables and Grains & Cereals categories ensuring continuity of supply while also identifying new opportunities to optimise our supply chain.
What Youll Be Doing
Strategic Sourcing (Vegetables):
- Develop sourcing strategy and align with business priorities.
- Lead commercial negotiations and supplier relationship management (SRM).
- Drive costsaving initiatives through our Value Leadership (VL) program.
Operational Buying (Vegetables Grains & Cereals):
- Maintain accurate SAP contracts and support documentation.
- Act as firstline escalation point for supplier issues quality concerns and risk management.
- Support innovation projects and local activities across teams.
- Track supplier performance manage demand variation and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Drive compliance and governance across buying processes.
What Were Looking For
- A university degree in business supply chain or related field.
- Experience in procurement supply chain or operations is highly valued.
- Strong negotiation stakeholder engagement and supplier management skills.
- Understanding of food safety quality and compliance practices is a bonus.
- A collaborative solutionsfocused mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
