Job Description
Overview
Providence Medical Center is looking for a per diem variable shift PBX/Telephone Operator (PRN) to join our growing Admitting team internally referred to as a Telephone Attendant in Admitting or a Phone Operator. A PBX/Telephone Operator handles internal and external communications for the hospital admitting department.

Responsibilities
The PBX Operator duties include but are not limited to:
- answering the switchboard and pages overhead
- greets and directs people to the appropriate departments
- monitors the hospital alarms
- must be aware of the policy and procedures of all hospital emergency codes
- ability to use a switchboard or phone system to manage multiple phone lines
- ability to communicate with population served
- shift needed: variable 8 hour shift
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Before we go any further we do have some dealbreakers. You must have:
- previous experience in an office or receptionist
- effective written verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines
- analytical and problemsolving skills
- high school graduate or GED equivalent
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- previous PBX experience
- customer service experience
