What Youll Do

  • Must be physically fit to perform the below job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation
  • Facilitates and supports all plant safety initiatives and provides instruction in safety awareness and provides training while resolving issues and concerns within the organization.
  • Ensures daily compliance with Conduct of Operations including a comprehensive series of controls implementing the requirements of DOE Orders Nuclear Explosive Operating Procedures Nuclear Explosive Engineering Procedures Standards and Internal Operating Procedures.
  • Manage and appropriately delegate work within an integrated Pantex staff to achieve organizational and Enterprise objectives by specifying task parameters (i.e. quality quantity resources and expected completion time).
  • Responsible for the development of individuals to ensure/maintain strategic competence and a thorough understanding of safety quality and security aspects of the job by formulating tasks that are within an appropriate range of complexity and by facilitating additional training when appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper maintenance storage and inventory of assigned equipment and property in areas which include high nuclear/explosive and/or high hazard facilities.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper alignment of subordinate roles through personal effectiveness appraisals and the effective delegation of work through the supervision and evaluation of proposed role changes that will facilitate accomplishment of assigned work.
  • May direct and oversee maintenance activities in a professional craft environment specifically the management of maintenance and repair of facilities and support structures.
  • Directs the development of plans to achieve tasks and goals and adhering to these plans in establishing the limits within which the subordinates tasks must be accomplished.
  • Provides oversight to managers who supervise the maintenance of all applicable records necessary to document the operations within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Ensures governmentowned inventory is controlled tracked and protected in accordance with Federal regulations DOE Orders and best business practices.
  • Directs activities to meet demands of the Plant encompassing such areas as Operations Support Services and Security and Emergency Operations in accordance with effective management practices.

What Youll Do Continued

  • May establish procedures and methods applicable to operating and/or interprets complex prints schematics and specifications.
  • May provide input to senior leadership in establishing policies and goals for personnel ensuring accuracy in the interpretation of design drawings ensure designs meet site conditions manages those that are responsible for correcting technical issues monitor technical submittals and configuration management as required for nuclear facilities.
  • Directs lead and manage the successful nuclear work control policy/procedural compliance including reviews and updates to said policy/procedures for nuclear/explosive and/or high hazard facilities.
  • Oversees management who prepare maintain and monitor the Plan of the Day to identify authorized facility maintenance and other facility activities.
  • Direct management and supervision of personnel (e.g. administrative fixed fire protection system operation and inspection maintenance and janitorial activities hazardous energy control program functions).
  • Accountable for the successful development of goals policies operational procedures and to determine programmatic objectives and requirements and recommends policy alignment and improvements as they pertain to efficient work control and asset management implementation strategy of the equipment and systems in a high hazard nuclear environment.
  • Champions change management ADKAR policy changes for large continuous improvement initiatives especially in high hazard nuclear manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate and agree to work scopes tied to mission delivery in nuclear/high hazard capacity areas in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Provide direction and leadership for verification/validation and post acceptance criteria of construction installations for equipment and complex systems to ensure compliance with DOE orders Conduct of Operations and the nuclear safety envelope as required for nuclear facilities.
  • Ensures daily compliance with Conduct of Operations including a comprehensive series of controls implementing the requirements of DOE Orders plant policies and procedures.
  • May direct/lead organization employees to ensure identification of technical system and equipment deficiencies and ensure design changes are implemented to those technical systems and equipment for appropriate nuclear facility operations.
  • May establish policies and goals to ensure accuracy in the interpretation of design drawings ensure designs meet site conditions provides leadership to those who are responsible for correcting technical issues monitor technical submittals and configuration management as required for nuclear facilities.
  • May collaborate with directors and production leadership to establish cross organizational goals for mission delivery.
  • Supports leadership who are responsible for organizing planning managing and directing the maintenance support functions of all nuclear and high hazard facilities to ensure their facilitys safety envelopes.
  • Establishes or supports the establishment of schedules and plans necessary to prioritize the repair of utilities facilities systems and equipment to maintain safe work conditions to achieve maximum production rates.
  • Operate maintain and/or provides input to leadership in strategic planning for the Utilities organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/requested.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory/ management experience.
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 18or more years of relevant experience.
  • Supervisor/management experience may be obtained through a combination of:
    • Directly supervising people
    • Managing programs/projects that require leading diverse teams with job responsibilities including hiring personnel giving performance feedback personnel goal setting and/or mentoring/coaching. Note: Will be reviewed for relevancy toward the management experience requirement.
  • In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e. High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.     • Maintenance background/experience (nice to have)
  • POTENTIAL (OPTIONAL) CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Reliability maintainability implementation certification (RMIC)

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
