Job Description

SUMMARY

Screens all clientele for appropriateness of services. Schedules and coordinates intake slots with clinical staff. Answers questions for all new clientele on a walkin and phone call basis. This is the top level in the COSS service area. It is distinguished from the other levels in that it has supervisory responsibilities.

DUTIES

  1. Supervise guide and evaluate the work of other COSS employees.
  2. Acts as a point of contact for the agency on administrative issues including Referral and Intake.
  3. Organize and distribute information to other sites and teams related to agency administrative issues.
  4. Receive all incoming referrals perform intakes and process all required intake paperwork to register client.
  5. Compile maintain retrieve and file all medical records to ensure completeness availability and timeliness.
  6. Provide customer service to all scheduled and walkin appointments answer telephone operate switchboard handle requests and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
  7. Process correspondence to other agencies staff and clients in accordance with the policies and procedures related to confidentiality.
  8. Schedule clinical and financial appointments for all clientele including their responsibilities to pay set fees.
  9. Input verified information pertinent to intake and appointment scheduling into appropriate fields of the computer database.
  10. Verify information collected from clients and other sources for accuracy and completeness.
  11. May act/supervise in the absence of program supervisor/director.
  12. Perform clerical duties as necessary.
  13. Employees must be able to monitor consumer activities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  14. An individual may qualify for the position if the individual is able to perform safely the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Perform safely means to perform without causing a direct threat to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated by reasonable accommodation as defined by 42 U.S.C. #12111(b) and the EEOCs regulations 29 C.F.R #1630.2(r).
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Training and Experience

High School graduate or equivalent. Any combination of training and experience equivalent to 1 year of healthcare experience. Must be familiar with medical terminology. Prefer experience with administrative functions of mental health and/or special populations facility. Availability to work flexible schedule.

Requires quarterly trips to all SEABHS locations.

Fingerprint clearance required.
