Village on the Park Oklahoma City is seeking a Fulltime Sous Chefto continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents.

Shifts:

  • 6:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday Saturday
  • Includes weekend and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to produce diversified menus in accordance with the Communitys policy and vision.
  • Establish the work schedule and organize work in the kitchen so that all tasks are accomplished efficiently and with excellence.
  • Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and standards.
  • Train the kitchen staff to achieve the best for the nutrition and enjoyment of our residents.
  • Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen at all times.
  • Prepares or assists in preparation of complete meals preparing and cooking soups meats gravies vegetables desserts salads baked goods etc. in accordance with menus and recipes.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized easily accessible and dated for health code compliance.
  • Check quality of ingredients.
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Member of the communitys emergency response team.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required training from a culinary school preferred.
  • Three to five years proven experience as a cook or 1 years as a Sous Chef.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling baking boiling etc.) equipment and procedures.
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of and lead a team.
  • Effective oral and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
