About the role
The role involves working closely with families experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV) to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children by strengthening protective factors and reducing risk factors that may lead to neglect child abuse or family violence.
This role will be embedded in our Child Youth and Family (CYF) programs and you will work closely with the local CYF team. You will also provide group facilitation in schools or in other community settings parental education including working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence and community outreach to build positive trusting relationships and support families in creating safe and nurturing environments.
You will collaborate with Aboriginal staff and local communities to ensure culturally sensitive and respectful service delivery enhancing our ability to engage meaningfully with Aboriginal clients.
In this role you will leverage our established delivery infrastructure and local workforce. You will be part of a team that is committed to providing flexible responsive and outcomesfocused support tailored to the unique needs of each family. Your work will include proactive community engagement risk assessment safety planning and linking families with additional support services as needed. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable families and contribute to the broader goal of reducing the risk of entry into the child protection system improving community participation and fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among clients.
