JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe CT Technologist Accountabilities are to ensure optimal quality oforderedimages while maintainingpatient safety.
- Shifts may varydue to department needs must be flexible.
- Schedules patients and prioritizes exams based on clinical need.
- Reviews and verifies orders before beginning exams.
- Reviews the patients EMR for safety concerns that could alter the quality of the exam or affect patient care.
- Prepares patient and room forexamsexplains procedure transfers patient using proper lifting and transfer techniques positions patient and assists patient as needed during the exam.
- Performs clinical evaluation of all patients and performs exams specifically as stated in the physicians order.
- Observes patient and equipment during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences in relation to patient condition to the Imaging Supervisor.
- Delivers all images to PACS and the Radiologist and ensures receipt of exam dictation.
- Rotate through other imaging departments and will aid other staff to achieve all patient care standards as needed and determined by the Imaging Supervisor.
- Completes all daily tasks for optimal departmental operation.
- Provides a line of communication regarding department affairs amongst department staff other clinical staff and physicians.
- Reports departmental concerns to the Imaging Supervisor.
- Attends department staff meetings.
- Manages inventory of supplies.
- Maintains all centerwide requirements such as annual Employee Health requirements ARWs and competencies.
REQUIRED MINIMUMEDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology (or equivalent) program.
REQUIRED MINIMUMCERTIFICATION
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
Must be a Registered CT Technologist
REQUIRED MINIMUMEXPERIENCE
Two (2)plusyearsor verifiableexperiencepreferred.
