Job Summary:

Support Tech LLC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Onsite IT Technician to provide handson technical support to our clients in the Jacksonville FL area. This role requires a strong technical aptitude excellent problemsolving skills the ability to work independently and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with PC setup and deployment software installation and configuration basic networking concepts and possess familiarity with Datto backup and recovery solutions. This position also requires the physical ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and timely onsite technical support to clients diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for desktops laptops and peripherals.
  • Perform the physical setup and deployment of new PCs ensuring proper cabling network connectivity and hardware functionality.
  • Install configure and update operating systems (e.g. Windows macOS) and various software applications according to client specifications and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot software compatibility issues and ensure all necessary drivers and updates are correctly installed.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting including connectivity problems WiFi configuration and printer setup.
  • Utilize and manage Datto backup and disaster recovery solutions including monitoring backup jobs performing test restores and assisting with recovery processes as needed.
  • Perform data backups and restoration tasks as required.
  • Provide enduser training and support on basic hardware and software usage.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed including problem descriptions resolutions and time spent using ticketing systems.
  • Follow established procedures and documentation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients providing clear and concise updates on the status of their issues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company at client locations.
  • Manage and organize personal inventory of necessary tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during onsite work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient IT operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (typically 2 years) in an onsite IT support role or a related field.
  • Strong technical proficiency with desktop and laptop hardware operating systems (Windows macOS) and common software applications.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Datto backup and disaster recovery solutions is essential.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP WiFi).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with a methodical approach.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Detailoriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for travel to home office located in Jacksonville FL area.
  • Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • CompTIA A Network or other relevant certifications are a plus.




Benefits

Compensation:

Hourly based on experience.

Hours:

Your working hours will be based on Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and will primarily be 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. However due to project and customer demands these hours can fluctuate. Your working hours should be flexible to accommodate these variations.



Responsibilities: Perform on-site deployment and setup of computer workstations, laptops, and related peripherals. This includes unpacking equipment, connecting cables, and ensuring proper physical installation. Execute and monitor Windows 11 upgrades on client workstations utilizing the Datto platform. Configure new workstations for remote access, ensuring they are ready for end-users. Troubleshoot general IT issues encountered during the deployment process, including hardware malfunctions, software installation problems, and basic network connectivity issues. Assist with basic networking tasks related to deployments, such as connecting devices to the network and verifying connectivity. Maintain accurate records of deployment activities and report progress as required. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while handling and installing equipment. Communicate effectively with project managers and other team members regarding deployment status and any challenges encountered. Provide basic end-user support related to the newly deployed equipment. Qualifications: Proven experience with IT hardware deployment and workstation setup. Required: Hands-on experience using the Datto platform for managing and monitoring Windows upgrades and deployments. Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, particularly Windows 11. Experience configuring workstations for remote access. Ability to troubleshoot general IT issues related to deployments, including software and basic networking. Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
