Job purpose
We are seeking a compassionate dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. The CNA will assist patients with daily activities such as bathing dressing feeding and mobility while ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient dignity and comfort.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing grooming toileting dressing and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature blood pressure pulse respiration). Report any changes in patients physical or emotional condition to the nursing staff.
- Help patients move in and out of beds wheelchairs and examination tables.
- Keep patient rooms clean sanitized and wellstocked.
- Support patients emotional wellbeing and offer companionship
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Current CNA certification in New Mexico
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required)
- Previous experience in a healthcare or longterm care setting (preferred)
- Strong communication organizational and timemanagement skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods
Working conditions
- May involve working nights weekends and holidays
- Fastpaced healthcare environment (hospital nursing home assisted living or home care).
Physical requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift/move patients and equipment when necessary.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
