About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Level B) with expertise in quantum processes and quantum computing.
- Level B: Conducting independent and/or collaborative research further developing expertise within the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on complex quantum processes particularly using the process tensor formalism and leverage practical quantum computing experience.
- Simulate complex quantum processes on quantum computers to uncover exotic dynamical phenomena.
- Cosupervise students and provide guidance in programming on quantum computers.
- Build and sustain longterm quantum computing and simulation capabilities at Monash University.
About You
You will bring:
- PhD in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Maths or Physics
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: complex quantum processes quantum error corrections tensor networks optimisation and machine learning and developing software infrastructure
- Some experience in quantum engineering quantum computing and/or quantum information sciences
- A deep understanding of quantum algorithms and/or experience with quantum hardware will also be beneficial.
- A passion for innovation and advancing knowledge at the intersection of complex quantum noise quantum error correction and quantum computing.
- Proven ability to collaborate within research teams and engage in mentoring students.
