The Clinical Skill Instructor is responsible for training new and existing ophthalmic assistants.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Instruct new clinical staff how to use NextGen EHR system for workups
Present and instruct new clinical staff on all aspects of ophthalmology
a. Terminology
b. Anatomy and Physiology
c. Surgical procedures performed by our surgeons
d. Ocular and Systemic medications
e. Optics
f. IOP check
g. Vision check
h. Lensometry
i. Pachymetry
j. Refraction
Must be patient understanding and objective when assessing the skills of new OAs
Report daily to Clinical Training & Compliance Manager as to training progress
Maintain and update OA training manual
Be available to do onsite satellite training when needed
Prepare and present refresher training as needed
Participate in Next Gen upgrade training.
Follow company policies and procedures
Always maintain practice patient and OA confidentiality
Always exhibit professional demeanor while representing the practice

Minimum Job Requirements (Education Experience Skills):
OA or COA experience required.
Experience in customer service environment required.

Able to work effectively with the public.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Physical Demands:
This position requires incumbent to sit at desk and/or stand for long hours during regularly scheduled work hours. This job may include but are not limited to sitting reaching stooping crouching kneeling climbing twisting hearing and repetitive motions. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Travel is required to satellite offices.
Working Conditions and Environment:
Incumbent works in a temperature controlled medical office environment.
Pay:
The starting range for this position is $19.1323.37/hr. depending on skills experience and qualifications as well as market considerations.
Full-Time
