Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced selfmotivated civil engineer to lead the civil engineering services with the goal of driving business growth operational excellence and project delivery success for local and regional clients. The ideal candidate is a sellerdoer with experience in pursuing business opportunities while leading and supervising a multidiscipline team. This person will have an active role in business development and will be empowered to grow the core engineering business adding backlog through new and existing clients and expanding the staff capabilities of the office.

  • Job Duties

    Office leadership that includes setting clear expectations that are measurable through KPIs; conducting performance assessments providing ongoing feedback and providing a sounding board for direct and indirect reports; creating a toptier organization by selective hiring and providing mentoring/training to new staff members

    Financial Responsibilities such as Office level budgeting for the fiscal year; putting in place the expectations and system to ensure a successful financial impact on the office.

    Business Development such as promoting and capturing new business opportunities for TRC with focus on Practice specific opportunities; retaining existing clients and contracts for repeat business; and promoting and facilitating new opportunities for SOL.

    Technical Accountability such as developing maintaining and championing of quality requirements procedures and goals as required by both SOL and our clients; providing QA/QC plan reviews and oversight as needed (lowest level of design involvement allowed); undertaking risk analysis and reporting for potential projects and ventures; reviewing and providing input to individual client teams for procedures to be utilized to ensure quality control.

  • Job Qualifications

    Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

    A minimum of twenty (20) years of related experience in engineering design and construction oversight and management of staff in municipal transportation state or land development engineering. Must have experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

    Applicants must be able to effectively manage and build a staff; coordinate with subconsultants; interact successfully with clients and other stakeholders; and efficiently manage project budgets and schedules.

    Minimum of fifteen (15) years of licensure as a Civil Engineer in resident state with demonstrated history of project design and management with the ability to acquire licensure in an additional state via reciprocity as needed within one (1) year.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills for communicating with staff and clients and for preliminary review of correspondence as required.

    Past experience with a design platform (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation) is assumed and beneficial.

    Experience with Municipal County State and Private Sector clientele.

    Must be flexible well organized accountable and dependable.
