The Team
At the Fraser South Child and Youth Eating disorder program youll join a dedicated team of 3 clinicians a physician psychiatrist dietitian and health care worker alongside a team leader and admin. We work collaboratively to support children youth and families aged 819 who are navigating an eating disorder through evidenced based and goaloriented support. Our diverse team values knowledgesharing and mutual support partnering closely with schools healthcare providers and community organizations. This team provides a welcoming and respectful environment where individuals can feel safe and supported to be able to serve the diverse families within the Fraser south communities.

The Role
In this role you will provide direct clinical services including intake assessment treatment and crisis intervention for children youth and families. You will collaborate with team members community agencies schools hospitals and other ministry programs while conducting individual group and family therapy. Being a vital piece of the multidisciplinary team your work will contribute to the youth and their families feeling confident in their ability to move through change and navigate eating disorder recovery. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a collaborative and passionate team to support the youth and families navigating an eating disorder. This role offers a hybrid model that offers the opportunity to work from home up to 1 day a week based on flexible work agreements.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) with a Bachelors degree in Nursing.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year fulltime equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Drivers license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • One (1) or more years clinical training and experience working with eating disorders (practicum experience in eating disorders may be considered as equivalent to work experience).
  • One (1) or more years training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (both Standard and/or Radically Open DBT) and/or EmotionFocused Family Therapy.
  • Applicants who selfidentify as Indigenous (First Nations Mtis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
