We advocate for and create affordable housing to end homelessness in our communities.


Purpose

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager the Road to Recover Driver provides motor vehicle transportation services to clients in the Basic Needs program that are going into or coming out of substance treatment programs/facilities within the state of Connecticut. The R2R Driver ensures an environment that reflects the core values of Trauma Informed Service: Safety Trustworthiness Choice Collaboration and Empowerment.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities

High School Graduate or equivalent. Demonstrated the ability to manage motivate and direct consumers. Knowledgeable about the stages of recovery selfhelp mental health substance abuse and confidentiality. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a deadlineoriented mindset. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common desktop applications. Knowledge of DMHAS supported substance abuse facilities and Connecticut state highway system. Culturally competent; must possess the capacity to work within a team and foster teamwork. Able to meet all documentation requirements. Able to drive; manage office telephones schedule transports perform light clerical duties and use a fax machine. Strong empathic skills coupled with a high degree of reliability and punctuality. Valid Drivers license with a good driving.

Responsibilities

Reliably and safely transport program appropriate clients within the state of Connecticut. Review and maintain records of referrals for Transportation program. Take referrals instruct referring agencies and complete paperwork for DMHAS Transportation Program. Complete all required documentation and reporting. Participate in monthly staff meetings group supervision and other collaborative meetings. Other related duties as assigned.

Supervised by:Transportation Manager

Pay: $17.00 per hourplus excellent benefits

Schedule:8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
