COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The hourly rate for this fulltime position is $10.00. Benefits are not provided for this type of temporary employment.

THE ROLE
WQED is seeking a summer intern to assist with various projects in Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology at the studio. This role will report up to the Managing Director Engineering and Technology and will perform project work with staff in various departments such as Engineering IT and Production.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

• At the direction of the Managing Director of Engineering & Technology perform all tasks related to developing an Enterprisewide Asset list including tracking logging and tagging identified equipment assets.
• Conduct installation research documentation and other tasks.
• Assist in the design and implementation of improvements to WQEDs operation.
• Update technical plan documentation when installations are completed.
• Assist in the decommissioning and removal of equipment
• Remain current on the developments and applications of stateoftheart broadcast engineering technology.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (including but not limited to)

• Associates degree in electronics and/or completion of a certificate program in electronics from an accredited technical institute preferred. Alternatively enrollment in a degreed/certificate program of the same nature will be considered as well.
• Strong knowledge of IT data networking and network attached storage systems as well as general technical knowledge of audio video and computing system.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
This position requires physical activities that could involve standing walking lifting and other movements. Candidates should be aware that the nature of the job may require physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve moderate to strenuous physical exertion.
