Job Description

The Project Policy Analyst will play a key role in gathering organizing developing analyzing summarizing documents information policies and legislative updates to support attorneys their daytoday work and to assist in the formulation of responses to various legal matters including litigation administrative hearings subpoenas audits government or legislative inquiries and regulatory investigations. The Project Policy Analyst will undertake additional types of projects/assignments or assist the legal team in systemwide projects as needed including researching monitoring and/or analyzing regulations legislation research literature and UC policies for impact on the University or initiative. As this work can have broad impact or consequences across the institution the incumbent must exercise sound judgment and engage in indepth evaluation of variable complex factors while understanding which issues should be immediately escalated for attorney or leadership input.

The Project Policy Analyst will be primarily responsible for overseeing and streamlining the workflow related to subpoena requests to ensure that the University is compliant with its legal obligation and ensures that the University is compliant with the respective response times. By way of example the Project Policy Analyst will be responsible for: (i) receiving login and acknowledging receipt of subpoena; (ii) assessing the validity and scope of each subpoena to determine the appropriate response (with the support of attorneys when indicated); (iii) coordinating the timely production of materials while ensuring they meet the specified deadlines; (iv) working with internal departments (e.g. Medical Staff IT Human Resources) and the respective custodians to gather relevant documents; (iv) conducting a preliminary review to ensure that all responsive materials to be provided are complete accurate and appropriately redacted when necessary; (v) collaborating with the appropriate attorneys as indicated to ensure the University complies with its legal obligations; (vi) maintain comprehensive records and tracking of subpoenarelated activities ensuring documentation is in compliance with University policies and legal requirements.

The Project Policy Analyst will also be responsible for managing and streamlining the workflow related to the review and monitoring of all Designated Officials onboarding offboarding and Form 700 annual filings in accordance with the California Political Reform Act administered by the Fair Political Practices Commission. Requires awareness and ongoing review of organizational changes and restructuring across the enterprise to determine how those changes affect the individual filing status of affected University Officials. Serves as a resource to leadership and designated officials to respond to questions regarding completion of the Form 700 and compliance with filing requirements (annual assuming office and leaving office.)

Working independently the Project Policy Analyst will select methods techniques and criteria for obtaining results and will be able to document and clearly communicate the process and results of that work. The work requires good organizational skills and close attention to detail while functioning in a fastpaced environment with multiple workflows.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $102400 $156000 (Annual Rate).
