Job Description

Master of Education students teach senior secondary classes on campus while you finalise your MTeach. Teacher registration/LAT not required.

About the role:

You will be teaching within the Foundation Studies Program a program designed for international students who have relocated to Australia and are looking to complete their secondary education prior to joining UTAS for their tertiary education.

These students are invested in their studies polite and motivated. Coming from a broad range of nationalities they will require varying levels of support to develop their English literacy and study skills.

The units are equivalent to senior secondary subjects taught in the Australian curriculum with adjustments to promote language and study skills development.

This position will be teaching the unit Microeconomics. The Microeconomics unit introduces students to the study of how individuals and firms make decisions and allocate their resources in markets. You would be using existing curriculum materials with flexibility to adapt to suit your teaching unit is run over a 13 week teaching cycle followed by an examination week.

About you:

Our students come from all over the world to fulfil their dream of studying at an Australian University. Pairing your sound pedagogical knowledge with excellent communication skills you will assist our students to achieve their goals.

To be successful you will have:

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies such as online Learning Management System
  • Experience in effective classroom management
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Advanced English written reading and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor degree or higher level qualification in a field relevant to business studies or economics
  • Certificate III or higher in education (or studies in progress with relevant experience)

If you are yet to complete your Master of Teaching you should have passed 100 credit points of the course have RPL for the remaining credit points and passed your LANTITE.

Teacher registration is not required.
