You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has one (1) fulltime academic position available at the rank of Assistant/Associate without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding with clinical duties at Seattle Childrens Hospital.
The Department of Laboratories at Seattle Childrens Hospital is recruiting a Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Technical Director or Senior Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Technical Director based on experience. Our hospitalbased lab is an integrated cytogenetics and molecular laboratory which analyzes constitutional and oncology specimens using a variety of techniques including chromosome analysis FISH chromosomal microarray MLPA and DNA and RNA sequencing. The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and experience with lab operations. They will participate in education of trainees consult with ordering providers and present at case conferences and tumor boards. The individual should develop or continue an academic program and stimulate development of new assays in the Genetics Laboratory at Seattle Childrens Hospital and University of Washington.
Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This is a fulltime 12month (July 1June 30) service position and will remain open until filled with an anticipated start date of August 1 2025 or later.
This position is paid directly by Seattle Childrens Hospital and receives no UW compensation. Please refer to Seattle Childrens Hospital for information about compensation for this position.

The successful candidate must have an MD PhD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) and be boardeligible or boardcertified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG) or dual boarded in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics and Molecular Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). Candidates with suitable academic records should jointly apply for an appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington.
