Senior Electrical Systems Integration Engineer, Body Controls

In this position...

As a Senior Electrical Systems Integration Engineer Body Controls you will be a key leader in the electrical system design and integration of components within the body controls subsystem. You will lead the endtoend integration of these systems collaborating with crossfunctional teams to support product design vehicle behavior definition prototype bringup and debugging. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and performance of these systems from concept through production. Your work will encompass a wide range of activities from supplier interaction and design optimization to hardware/software integration and issue resolution.

What youll do...

Develop component hardware specifications for body controllers motors sensors and switches collaborating with device owners and supply chain to source components.

Drive electrical architectural direction and decisionmaking for body subsystems performing trade studies to optimize cost and performance.

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver and maintain robust body controls subsystem boundary and block diagrams.

Define develop and integrate body controls features and functions decomposing user stories and functional safety goals into system requirements.

Develop and mature functional specifications for body controls systems and electronics ensuring alignment with overall vehicle homologation and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with software integration team to ensure robust body controls performance and functionality across all operating conditions.

Own and approve Device Transmittals for body controls components ensuring logical schematics and hardware interfaces are designed to meet all component requirements.

Lead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bringup debug and engineering test of prototype bucks labcars and vehicles.

Youll have...

• B.S in Electrical Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 6 years of experience working on complex electrical systems or electronics designs
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
• Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical mechanical and software domains
• Highly skilled in low voltage systems development electric vehicle system architecture functional safety and component level integration planning
• Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA etc.)
• Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files
• Excellent teamwork problemsolving communication and project management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An eagerness to work crossfunctionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
• A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

Even better you may have...

• Masters Degree Electrical Engineering Computer Science Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• Handson experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes DMMs signal generators power supplies etc.)
• Experience with body controls feature development and integration from concept through production launch
• Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
• Experience with electrical / electromechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
• Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files is a plus

This position is a salary grade 4.
