Job Description
Weekly outpatient therapy isnt always enough and a trip to the ER isnt the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis every day wehelp people overcome depression anxiety suicidality obsessions/compulsions trauma chronic pain and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This Role

As a group therapist you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT DBT and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. As a flex therapist you will get exposure to a range of programs with our over 18 population which includes our Young Adult Mood & Anxiety Program (ages 18 23) Adult Mood & Anxiety Program (ages 23) Trauma Program (ages 18) OCD & Complex Anxiety Program (ages 18) Mental Health Pain & Illness Program (ages 18) and Mental Health & Substance Use Program (ages 18). This role is a great opportunity for someone who is seeking a role to interact with patients with varying clinical presentations or further explore your own interests. This is a Monday thru Friday position 8am to 4pm. No weekends or evenings.
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility and consists not only of our widest variety of programs but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
What Youll Do:
- Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
- Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
- Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as other evidencedbased therapies
- Relaying relevant clinical information to treatment team during daily rounds and as needed
- Developing program material and adjusting group therapy content as needed to fit group needs
- Engaging in crisis management as needed
- Creating and updating treatment plans
- Charting in our electronic medical records system
- Participating in professional development activities
- This position may also include meeting with patients individually for case management or supporting aftercare groups / program support groups as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
- Are passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others
- Are a Psychologist or Masters level therapist
- Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible) LPC (or LPC eligible) LCSW LCPC PsyD or PhD
- Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills (preferred not required)
- Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization intensive outpatient inpatient hospital or residential setting (preferred not required)

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including but not limited to your years of experience type of experience location and education/certifications.
