As a Sr. Casting Application Engineer you will use your technical expertise to drive AET developments and maturation of TRL/MRL to manufacture next generation turbine airfoils. In this role you will engage in crossfunctional teams consisting of materials manufacturing design and information technologies to usher in the production of a new airfoil manufacturing paradigm.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop configure and optimize casting material and manufacturing systems through the stages of inception start up industrialization and component certification.
- Manage project plans and action plans to achieve Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) objectives by contributing to crossfunctional teams and completing program deliverables.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for projects and tasks consistent with Engineering and Supply Chain policies and procedures using TRL and MRL maturation approaches in preparation for full rate production.
- Lead and facilitate regular communication of technical and business information between organizations including senior leaders.
- Manage and mitigate TRL and MRL risks to achieve a production ready manufacturing and casting system for next generation turbine airfoils.
- Execute projects collaboratively with application engineering design engineering and supply chain leaders to formulate technical solutions and strategies that align with technical and business objectives.
- Exercise systems thinking to demonstrate casting process TRL and MRL capabilities.
- Apply your expertise in modeling fixturing machining and casting to fulfill technical and business requirements.
- Execute the analysis and evaluations of materials and process development with sound engineering principles adhering to business standards practices procedures and product/program requirements.
- Leverage and promote the use of the GE Aerospace Flight Deck Operating System as the framework for problemsolving and decisionmaking supporting pilot and FSE problemsolving with an emphasis on SQDC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Materials Science or related Engineering field from an accredited university or college
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing materials science engineering manufacturing process development and/or design
- Effective problemsolving analytical skills and ability to make appropriate riskbased decisions; ability to mentor others in resolving complex problems
- Technical depth in additive manufacturing or casting methods; proven experience collaborating with engineering and supply chain counterparts
- Able to work inperson (not virtual) > 75% of the time with ability to travel between local sites in the Cincinnati and Dayton area

Desired Characteristics
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated project management expertise
- CAD experience particularly Unigraphics NX
- Experience in high pressure turbine airfoil manufacturing casting and inspection techniques
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; experience in influencing and leading small teams with a flexible friendly attitude
- Collaborative forward thinking can operate in gray space and has process mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Able to skillfully use GD&T to satisfy design and manufacturing needs for part quality.
- Knowledgeable of APQP Robust Design and LEAN processes.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
