Position Description
Position Title: Facilities Assistant
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Type: PartTime Summer
Classification: Hourly NonExempt
Department: Operations

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with repair maintenance and upkeep of campus grounds and facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Move classroom and office furniture during offseasons for cleaning of rooms by custodial staff.
  • Assist with signage updates around campus.
  • Stain/paint ramps to buildings.
  • Tighten desks and chairs.
  • Assemble new furniture for classrooms/offices.
  • Spread mulch and plant shrubbery.
  • Report any known safety issues to the Facilities Manager immediately.
  • Maintain professional speech and conduct while on the job.
  • Refrain from cell phone or computer use unless necessary for facilities duties.
  • Work collaboratively with your staff supervisor and other facilities workers.
  • Be punctual to work and stay for the full time unless otherwise approved.
  • Promptly respond to all school communications within 2 business days.
Education & Experience Required and Acknowledgments
Minimum requirements:
  • At least 16 years old and eligible to work in the state of NC with a Youth Employment Certificate
  • Currently enrolled and in goodstanding at Neuse Charter School
  • No disciplinary infractions and no report cards grades below a C
  • If school is in session on the work day must be in attendance at school the day of work
Acknowledgments:
  • I will be punctual and perform my job duties to the best of my ability. I will notify the appropriate contact if I will be unable to be present for work. Failure to complete assigned tasks failure to be punctual or absenteeism from work may result in immediate discontinuance of employment.
  • I understand the student position is temporary and may be discontinued at any time.
  • I will follow all appropriate policies and procedures of NCS. Failure to consistently follow policies and/or procedures may result in discontinuance of employment at any time without additional notice or warning.
  • I will hold in confidence any information revealed to me pertaining to any student.
  • I confirm that I have not been convicted of a felony or any offense involving drugs alcohol child abuse sexual aberration or any moral turpitude.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Regularly required to talk hear stand walk bend kneel crawl climb reach with hands and arms lift and/or move up to 50 pounds alone and lift and/or move up to over 100 pounds with assistance. Work may be performed inside temperaturecontrolled office/school buildings as well as outside in temperatures above/below normal heat or cold with varying degrees of temperatures and humidity.
