About the workplace
We are seeking a strategic and handon Platform Lead Lending to oversee the endtoend design development and implementation of our technology platforms within the organization. This role will play a critical part in modernizing our lending capabilities improving customer experience and ensuring platform scalability performance and regulatory compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of platform architecture integration and scalability to ensure the delivery of robust and efficient platform services. The Platform Tech Lead will work closely with crossfunctional teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives and drive innovation
This is a permanent fulltime role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.
A typical day would involve:
- Platform Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for platform development that aligns with business goals and enhances user experience.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the platform team ensuring best practices in architecture design and coding. Lead a crossfunctional team of engineers architects and product managers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Architecture Oversight: Ensure the platform architecture is robust scalable and secure. Provide guidance on best practices and technical standards.
- Project Management: Lead platformrelated projects from planning and execution to delivery ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project technical requirements and objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and maintain metrics to monitor platform performance reliability and user engagement. Use datadriven insights to identify improvements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g. product data platforms retail) to understand needs and ensure platform solutions meet user demands.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to optimize platform functionality and integrations.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies identifying opportunities to leverage new tools and processes.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to platform usage and data security. Incorporate into the platform roadmap compliance / regulatory items and legacy systems modernization.
You have:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field;
- 7 years of experience in platform development integration and management with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Understanding of Canadian banking and/or payments ecosystem including the partner landscape.
- Proficiency in the platform full stack
- Understanding of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS Azure) API development microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of platform architecture and integration technologies.
- Working knowledge of DevOps principles. Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana.
- Strong technical leadership abilities with experience in technical decisionmaking road mapping & platform optimization.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams & articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Strong ability to hold business discussions and help influence business processes based on what the technology supports.

The salary range for this role is $91000 to $136400 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skills previous experience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
