We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our dynamic team based in Halifax. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations the Data Analyst plays a critical role in supporting strategic decisionmaking service improvement and organizational decisionmaking. This role collaborates with crossfunctional teams to drive improvements in quality of care patient safety accessibility and equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop produce and maintain highquality reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Create and audit custom data sources to support quality improvement (QI) patient safety and risk management initiatives
  • Analyze service delivery and outcomes data to identify gaps and promote equitable access
  • Maintain data accuracy across internal platforms including KPIs Sharepoint and HSNS website.
  • Optimize user experience in core data systems (e.g. Power BI Tableau MedAccess EMR)
  • Develop and deliver userfriendly training materials for staff and leadership teams
  • Promote and uphold HSNSs values of equity diversity reconciliation and ethical care in all data practices.
  • Contribute to a safe respectful and culturally responsive workplace

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science Health Informatics or related field
  • 13 years of experience in data management analytics or systems support (coop experience considered)
  • Proficiency in Excel Power BI Tableau Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication critical thinking and problemsolving abilities

Assets:

  • Graduate degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of MedAccess EMR
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (White or Yellow Belt)
  • Experience working in healthcare or public sector
  • Familiarity with Nova Scotias health system and QI frameworks
  • Experience with SharePoint and managing web content

Additional Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within Nova Scotia
  • Flexibility to work evenings/overtime as needed
  • Satisfactory criminal and vulnerable sector background checks
