DescriptionNow Hiring for a Security Officer at the Redwood Hospital. As the Security Officer your main responsibilities would be monitoring and protecting hospital patients employees guests and property preserving the peace preventing crime and detecting and detaining violators of the law.
Summary
- Responds to hospital emergency codes
- Frequently patrols parking lots and clinics in patrol squad
- Performs routine rounding on aggressive flagged patients or those at risk for security intervention
- Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage theft presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences
- Serves as a liaison for responding law enforcement agencies
- Trainings and certifications provided by the department
- Shift differentials offered for evening nights and weekends
- Tenured staff willing and eager to share their knowledge
Schedule
- Parttime 40 hours per two weeks
- Every other Thursday through Sunday 12:00PM to 10:00PM

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in security policing training in law enforcement or private security preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written and deal effectively with individuals/groups in a health care setting.
- Minimum training and certification up to the level of EMR within 3 months of hire.
- A valid Minnesota drivers license and a driving record in good standing required.
- Must become certified in the use of the ASP expandable baton handcuffing VISTELAR and CEW (conducted energy weapon/Taser) as well as experience the effects of receiving a Taser exposure within 6 months of hire
- A full set of fingerprints in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326.336 is required during onboarding process.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.
