GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!
As the Mechanical CAD Designer you will focus on developing mechanical drawings for our underwater acoustic systems. Youll play a key role in supporting the design build and test of mechanical components while maintaining project documentation and collaborating with the project team to ensure project success. Responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical drawings at the component and subassembly level for sonar and winch products
- Create and maintain BOMs
- Support the design build and test of mechanical components and subassemblies including sonar and winch electronics enclosures and racks
- Maintain and update project files and documentation
- Collaborate with project team to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving designrelated issues
Qualifications
- Diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience engineering technology and design.
- Experience with electrical CAD software including AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
- Experience in reading engineering documentation wiring schematics and BOMs.
- Practical design testing experience
- Competent with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Passionate about build and test and producing a quality product
- Good teamwork and communication skills
Security Requirement
All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances
