JOB SUMMARY:
The PartTime Reading Coach/Interventionist (Grades K6) supports the development and implementation of effective reading instruction for theschool year. Working under the supervision of the Director of Education this role combines coaching teachers in evidencebased literacy practices with providing direct reading intervention to students. The Reading Coach/Interventionist plays a critical role in analyzing student data guiding instructional decisions and fostering a schoolwide culture of literacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct and coach teachers in reading instruction (evidencebased practices aligned with the science of reading).
- Provide direct reading services to K6 students who are struggling with reading individually and/or a small group.
- Collect and analyze student reading data use data to inform targeted interventions and support teachers in ensuring all students can engage with gradelevel content.
- Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments adjusting interventions and instructional strategies as needed.
- Instill a sense of urgency and investment around foundational reading skills within the staff and communicate school wide growth and trends.
- Support a schoolwide culture of literacy by sharing best practices resources and professional development related to effective reading instruction.
- Assist teachers/PP Team in preparing reports for PPTs.
