The opportunity

The Principal Investigator Child Protection is a newly created position at IFYS with purpose and impact.

Reporting to the Executive Manager People and Culture the Principal Investigator will conduct investigations inquiries and manage disciplinary processes for Out of Home Care programs.

This role will make assessments and inform the continual improvement of practice methodology utilising contemporary knowledge of child protection legislation and trauma informed care.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Conduct investigations complying with internal protocols and relevant laws
  • Utilise knowledge of child protections legislation to guide processes and to inform contributions to continual improvement strategies
  • Advise on risk mitigation strategies operational improvements and improvements to practice methodology
  • Mentor and train IFYS program leaders in conducting investigations and disciplinary processes
  • Create and maintain systems to allow early identification of areas of concerns
  • Periodically brief stakeholders on case status and relevant findings

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Tertiary level qualification related to Human Resources Industrial Relations or Community and Social Services
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex investigation processes
  • Welldeveloped interviewing and analytical skills
  • High level written skills and report writing on complex matters
  • The ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • A commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Willingness to travel as the role requires

Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful:

  • QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • QLD Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
  • National Criminal History Check (a new check will be requested through IFYS systems)
