Job Description

The Network Manager of Food Services impacts students lives by:

  • Planning scheduling assigning and supervising the work of school food service staff at each site including monitoring performance addressing concerns and ensuring timely completion of activities
  • Overseeing adherence to directed sanitation procedures and managing kitchen cleaning schedules
  • Operating and maintaining the Child Nutrition computerized meal accounting system and ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Maintaining required records including: daily meal plans temperature logs participant counts (daily and monthly) invoices incident reports inventory records and other documentation
  • Planning and overseeing food preparation and service according to USDA meal standards
  • Ensuring compliance with district policies federal and state laws
  • Training and onboarding new and substitute employees and providing ongoing handson instruction in food preparation safety and equipment use
  • Inspecting cafeteria facilities equipment and utensils for cleanliness and sanitation
  • Estimating quantities of food and supplies needed; placing orders as required; verifying shipments and invoices
  • Managing food and supply costs to ensure adherence to the established budget and network guidelines
  • Operating and overseeing maintenance of cafeteria equipment (e.g. slicers mixers dishwashers steamers ovens)
  • Managing HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) documentation as required by the USDA
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services
