About the Position
The EPST I provides support to project managers/coordinators of the Local Agency Unit by reviewing various field materials tests and provide oversite of Local Agency contractor work to ensure projects are constructed safely and in compliance with project plans and specifications. This position reviews invoices and quantities for monthly progress payments and assists in the plan review. Will assist in guiding LA in accordance with the Local Agency Manual as well as assist project managers/coordinators by being a liaison with inhouse specialty groups.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist Project Managers/Coordinators Create Documentation and Process Invoices- Support the Project Managers/Coordinators of the Local Agency Unit by providing oversite of Local Agency projects to ensure projects are constructed safely and in compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Utilize various computer programs such as SAP ProjectWise and MS Office Suite programs to create projects and enter data to track project status.
- Provides oversight by reviewing the contractors work to ensure it is in conformance with construction plans and specifications.
- Review the contractors work procedures by being on site and being familiar with plans and specifications.
- Review inspection reports for description of contractors work calculations and accuracy.
- Review and consult with Professional Engineer on change orders prepared by local agencies.
- Review and provide recommendations to Project Manager/Coordinator to approve or decline construction pay estimate submitted by local agency to ensure that the estimate is based on approved items.
- Review the asbuilt plan and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Ensure items on the LA Project Closure list are completed before the final payment is issued and the project is closed.
- Study CDOT Local Agency Manuals attend assigned training classes and participate in seminars to enhance knowledge necessary to perform job duties.
- Take Transportation Engineering Training Program classes (TETP).
Work Environment:- Primarily 8:00 am 4:30 pm work hours MondayFriday;
- Travel required during work hours throughout Region 2;
- Occasional overnight travel 13 times a year throughout Colorado;
- Required to operate CDOT vehicles;
- This position may be in close proximity to moving vehicles on construction sites.
- May be exposed to a number of weather conditions as well possibly being exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes dust odors etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only:- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- four (4) years of experience in anycombination of the following: Project management assisting in the design of construction plans monitoring construction projects by conducting materials testing project inspection and documentation.
Education and Experience:
Completion of engineering civil engineering technology construction management project management or other relevant coursework may substitute on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.Please Note: The required experience must be substantiated within the work experience section of your application.
