Description
- Obtain all outside medical records and test results from referring physician
- Review patient schedule with physician and plan for clinical day.
- Clean treatment rooms and ensure that proper supplies are available.
- Escort patient to treatment room and perform basic routine testing ( vitals)
- Assist surgeons with entire patient visit and biopsies.
- Verify and complete Home Health Forms disability etc.
- Provide Diagnosis and Procedure appropriate education materials and guidance to patients.
- Clinical patient calls
- Inform patients of results of testing and ongoing treatment plan after review with physician.
- Answer/Triage all clinical issues.
- Ensures that patient have followup testing and appointment with physicians.
- Develops a working relationship with referring physicians.
- Assumes responsibility for patient flow with Radiology.
- Ensures that patient have all information and questions answered about their health.
- Assumes responsibility for tracking patient through radiology lab pathology and other testing procedures.
- Assists physician with History and Physical for surgery cases.
- Coordinates with the hospital unit for continuum of care and ensures patients receive proper followup care.
- General Practice Duties
- Provide telephone coverage
- Assist office staff with filing and other clerical needs.
- Assist surgeons with special projects.
- Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients family members visitors and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
- Displays a caring and courteous attitude and represents the hospital in a positive as noted
above. - Promotes and contributes positively to intradepartmental and interdepartmental
- relationships with no more than two complaints in a sixmonth period.
- Maintains the confidentiality of employees and departmental information with no
- infractions.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist coworkers and/or to accept additional assignments as
- requested to support the department efficiency as observed by the manager.
- Responds to all managers requests for information and assists in a timely and courteous
- manner.
- Demonstrated a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when
- dealing with people; uses tact sensitivity and sound judgment at all times.

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
