Job Description
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a fulltime Senior Accountant bringing advanced accounting experience and will support monthly and annual operations. Primary accounting tasks include the preparation of monthend journal entries restricted and grant accounting reconciliation of various general ledger income expense accounts and special projects as assigned by the Controller. The Senior Accountant is experienced in accounting software and performs monthend close. This position is also responsible for backup assistance for all areas within the Accounting department.
Qualified candidates will have but not limited to:
- advanced knowledge and ability to effectively analyze troubleshoot and mitigate accounting variances and ensure compliance with financial reporting and other compliance procedures in accordance with OMSI standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience
- advanced knowledge of and ability to use Sage Intacct or other financial software;
- minimum 5 years of Accounting experience;
- minimum 3 years of nonprofit experience.
The Senior Accountant has an annual salary of $80103.84 and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
