JSC Pipefitter (full time)

Purpose of the position
Will perform assigned pipefitting duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center worksite.
Minimum Qualifications: Please have the following minimum requirements listed on resume before submitting for the position:
- Referral must have a strong background in all Pipe Fitting work:
- Fit weld fittings
- Fit threaded fittings
- Fit MJ (mechanical joint) fittings
- Use OxyGas torch
- Operation Rigid 535 pipe machine
- Fit copper fittings
- Boltup flanges
- Sweat copper
- Take off for 4 standard 45 buttweld
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to effectively work in a hot and noisy environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be able to pass a PreEmployment background questionnaire.
- Referral must provide documentation to support qualifications.
- Insuring quality and completeness of work as well as insuring areas worked are clean neat and ready for Customers needs when complete.
- Must have a High School Diploma.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal) Passport or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must have the ability to communicate the English language both verbally and written in an effective manner.
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas drivers license.
Special Knowledge and Skills Required
- This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.
- Must be able to pass a PreEmployment background check and drug screen test.
- Clean neat and professional personal appearance.
- Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
- Will insure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean neat and ready for Customers needs when complete.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
- In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas as applicable.
Preferences
- Prior knowledge of NASA site experienced with working on government installations preferred.
